Julie Enslow of Peace Action says Dr. Bowman is considered one of the best speakers in the country. Bowman stated, “We must take back America from the corporate interests. Our immediate goals are to prevent a war on Iran, end the occupation of Iraq, and start impeachment proceedings against President Bush and Vice President Cheney.” Bowman, a Vietnam veteran, was Director of Advanced Space Programs Development during the Carter presidency. President Reagan took this program and turned it into his offensive “Star Wars” program. Bowman then retired from the military and became an early and open critic of Reagan’s Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI). On the McNeil-Lehrer News Hour he called SDI “…the ultimate military lunacy, easily overwhelmed and vulnerable.” He will be speaking Tuesday night for FREE at Friends Meeting House in Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood. This event is sponsored by Take a Stand for 9-11 Truth, the Milwaukee Impeachment Committee and Peace Action Wisconsin.
Stop by this Wednesday (7/30) between 5 pm and 7 pm for a fundraiser for state senate candidate Jess King, who will be coming down from Oshkosh. She is an exciting candidate and this is your chance to meet her. She has an excellent shot at winning the open state senate seat in the 18th district around Oshkosh.
This Wednesday, July 30th, is our third Feldman Community Forum. The topic is another key one: The environment. I am very pleased to be joined by special guest Ken Leinbach, Executive Director of the Urban Ecology Center. Please join us from 7-8pm at the North Shore Library (Community Room) in Glendale.

This event commemorates the event of atomic bombs being dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasacki and calls for the abolition of nuclear weapons. This event is especially significant because the Bush administration has indicated a willingness to use nuclear weapons, even on a first strike basis. Lantern making, family activities, world music and dance, food will begin at 5:30pm. Commemorative program, speakers, music starting at 7:30 pm. The lanterns will be floated at dusk (8:30pm) in the river according to Japanese tradition.
