Body:

The City of Milwaukee Water is Works is a well-managed, efficient public utility. As a result, water rates are relatively low and the water is high quality.

Some City of Milwaukee leaders have proposed privatizing the system through a long term lease in a desperate effort to generate revenue. Privatization has been tried in other cities and led to: soaring water rates; declining investment in water system infrastructure; political corruption; and a lack of accountability.

You can help stop this by:

1) Signing the petition at http://www.thepetitionsite.com/3/Stop-Water-Privatization-Wisconsin

2) Come to the Milwaukee City Hall (200 E Wells St) Monday, June 15th, at 12:30 p.m. to attend a rally, then the Steering and Rules Committee Meeting at 1:30 p.m. Let the aldermen know that we do not support privatizing Milwaukee's water.

Be there!
